Rita holds a faculty position at Rutgers University and the Academy of Peer Services for New York State peer specialist certification. She has lived experience of a major mental health diagnosis and over 20 years of experience providing peer support and recovery-oriented training. She coordinated the development of National Practice Standards for Peer Supporters for the National Association of Peer Supporters (N.A.P.S.) and she is a frequent lecturer on peer support values, practice, and supervision
