Resources to Improve your Vocational Identity at:
Stage 1- Career Detachment
The following are examples of strategies that may help individuals rebuild their vocational identity:

Clarify Vocational Preferences
Help the individual identify what is important to them in a job. There are many ways to identify vocational values (such as a card sort), though reviewing past vocational experiences may be more meaningful, if the individual is able to do so.
(Re)Build the Career Narrative
Despite the significant identity fragmentation that can follow a mental health-related vocational disruption, individuals still have histories of vocational experience. These experiences can be explored to help individuals identify identity strengths that they wish to emphasize and build upon without putting undue pressure on making change before they feel ready. Activities such as My Career Story can be helpful.
